First (big) Contest with new clubcall DR0W. The 2x1 hype is already over, so I didn´t notice much advantage from the call.

I did a lot of preparation for this years contest season as I had 3 weeks of vacation in front of CQWW SSB.
We had a beautiful autumn this year, only 2 days with some rain during that 3 weeks, I really enjoyed my radio/antenna work/ holidays, hi.
As a result the following new toys were erected:

- A3S on portable tower (@15m) seperated by 60m to main tower
- invL in the trees (20m vertical section) with 2 elevated radials
- 3 beverages 160m long (NW, NE and one bidirectional one N/S)

Unfortunatelly I have to disassemble it all in spring next year, when the farm season begins...

As always I tried to sleep before the contest for some hours, which worked fine this time. The first 24 hours worked great and I had a simliar result as last year.
During 2nd night I went to sleep and wanted to get up again for sunrise to work important mults on the low bands.
But somehow: the alarm clock rang, I was awake, but... due to a lack of motivation I fell asleep again and woke up some 5 hours later :-)

Sunday Mr. Murphy tuned my TS850 onto the same band as the main station was sending and so I lost the RX of the 2nd radio (20m and above)
Also later on I blew the W3NQN-bandfilter on 40m by tuning the amp with the wrong antenna selected.

All in all I had al lot of fun anyway and for the first time I used beverages at my QTH, which really improved listening on the crowded low bands. How could I operate without them in the years before?
