Comments:
This year I had the opportunity to operate from the highest place
in "Oberschwaben", the "Höchsten". With its
833m asl it has a clear takeoff into all directions.
The QTH, which is used by the members of DARC OV Markdorf A44,
consists of a small hut, which is electrically heated. Electricity
is switched on by throwing coins into a box; for one german mark
you have one hour of power, I don`t know, what you get now for one
Euro :-)
Guess how often I sat in the dark after the time ran out...
The contest itself was a part time entry, I planned to operate
mostly during daytime, because of a lack of good low band
antennas.
In spite of the small antennas I could work most of the rare DX
and had especially a good time on 10m. |

Me standing in front of the
Höchsten tower, FB33 at abt 14m
and a lot of VHF/UHF stuff above it
in the background there is a large TV tower, which is 140m high,
this would be the ultimative tower ! |
