We wanted to use the station for a Multi Operator effort for
the first time and I thought everything was prepared... I was
wrong.
On friday before the contest we met at the station for the first
time, because I wanted to show the others some details and talk a
bit about stategy.
DL1GBQ planned to work on saturday morning, DF5UL saturday
afternoon and myself on sunday.
Then the bad surprise: the power cable was gone... we installed
a "normal" 220V cable for the moment and in the next
morning a spare 380V cable with a power adapter from DL1GBQ
should arrive. Unfortunatelly the cable had a failure that blew
away the ICOM amp when swiching on power at abt 5:45Z.
So saturday morning was done with 150W from the IC781 until by the
help of Ulrich, DG4BUL the original cable arrived again.
Also packet cluster didn`t work because my packet trx was out of
order, too.
When I started on sunday all was in normal shape again, only the
second antenna missing because of a lack of a 2nd amp.
Because of our problems there were plenty of stations left and I
was able to run almost 1000 QSOs on the 2nd day...
Finally ended up 2nd DL behind DF9ZP.
